Membership

UFMI composites of hundreds of filmmakers across all quarters of the Film Fraternity in Uganda. Members are grouped in Guilds which categories are primary based as regards art, the role and or area of interest within the Ugandan film industry. Such categories include;
  1. Play Wright and or screen/film script writing
  2. Film production
  3. Film Directing
  4. Play and or Film acting
  5. Film Technical crew services
  6. Film costuming and make-up
  7. Film publishing
  8. Film translating and
  9. Film distributing
On application and on registration of membership with UFMI, artist achieve an implied membership to any Guild in respect to their areas of interest within the fraternity.

Every member MUST commit an non refundable membership fee which is;
  1. 35,000/- for Individuals
  2. 110,000/- for companies/partnerships.
Why should one become a member?
Only members can benefit from any opportunities that come along with the services of a Copyright Collecting Society. However, film industry stack holders MUST not only register for membership but also their titles that is; films for protection and managing of their individual rights and Royalties.

Today UFMI manages our 5,000 film titles with which it is charged with the responsibility of Protecting and managing of authors' Rights as well collecting and delivering Royalties to respective authors.
